These are flowers the Linda has on our front porch, which I moved on the the lawn.  I put them in different spots to get the sun to light them up differently.  I did push back the 'shadow slider' to darken the area not lit by the sun so the flowers would stand out.

September 26, 2017

Only one picture today of a morning cloud as I drove to work.  The benefits of always having a camera with you.  Clouds are similar to what is said about snow flakes; "There are no two alike," although I have never been able to distinguish the difference between two snow flakes.

One of my favorite spots when we go to Destin, Fl is the dunes on Okaloosa Island, which is on the after you cross the bridge neat the harbor heading west toward Fort Walton, Fl.

I have posted a few pictures previously, but as I was copying pictures to a hard drive to free up space on my computer, these stood out to me.

September 11, 2017

Today's date is our "Day of Infamy," as we remember this day in 2001.  They are reading the names on of those who died that day on television in remembrance of them.  It has to be a very difficult day for those that lost loved ones.  They need our prayers for peace and comfort.

We took Nathan to a few of the places that his mother enjoyed when she visited.  Linda took him to Gibbs gardens and to the Kroger store, which Tina always enjoyed.  She could walk to it from our previous home, liked the layout, and the different selections.  On Saturday, it was to Dahlonega, GA and to Amicalola Falls.

The first stop was the Smith House for good, ole Southern Cooking and then to the General Store.  See the following link.     http://dahlonegageneralstore.com/about/  We went to the Dahlonega Gold Museum as well.  Later, we stop at Amicalola Falls.

September 8, 2017

We picked up our nephew, Nathan, who is visiting from New Hampshire on Tuesday and went to the Georgia Aquarium and then to the Dekalb Farmers Market, which is an experience that everyone should experience.

The aquarium was mobbed for a Tuesday and it was difficult to take pictures, however I have a few to post.  The most notable for me was the albino alligator.

At the dolphin show, they first said, "No movies and no flashes."  Later, they repeated it and added 'pictures.'  I opted for the former and laid my camera in my lap and guessed as to where the lens was aimed.  I had six shots, but the lighting and shutter speed did not aid to getting a sharp picture.

September 5, 2017

These pictures are more from our trip to Gibbs this past weekend. As was the case from the previous post, I had a goal of taking pictures of flower beds, of things that I have overlooked in the past, and some familiar items for a different perspective.  Included is the rock dam, which is where the gazebo is located.  The sculptures are all over the gardens.  I posted some of the children previously and there are many in the Japanese Garden, which I will post some other time.

September 3, 2017

Another trip to Gibbs Gardens for Linda and me yesterday afternoon.  I had a goal of taking pictures of flower beds, of things that I have overlooked in the past, and some familiar items for a different perspective.  Most of these were taken up at the Manor House.

It was fun because it seems to me that the gardens are in a waiting period as they are about to burst with the fall colors.  The foliage is particularly vibrant with the different Japanese Maples glowing with the reds and oranges.

Just click on a picture to enlarge them.
