The Christmas lights are aglow in Dahlonega, GA. A word to the wise... Going there Monday through Thursday will avoid the crowds.

Happy Thanksgiving!
"Gobble till you wobble."What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
Pumpkin pi!"
How many of your locals have been to Canton lately?
We went Tuesday afternoon and there have been some nice changes to the downtown area, notably, there are new restaurants and little shops to enjoy. At least Linda did... I took some picture. Go figure.
Two comments. First the cemetery, one marker had the year of birth as 1780. Another marker of the Confederate solder is of historical value and in no way should political (in)correctness come into the picture. The person apparently was in the war and died during it, base on the date of his death.
Secondly, the Time Capsule is for 25 years, which seems to me is a very short time for a capsule. When I saw this, I thought to myself, self, a 'Living Museum" would be more interesting. A museum where it is divided into two sections, historical, where the past is presented with artifacts that bring us up to the present and a section where each year articles are added and updated each year. Just a thought.

I am working on organizing all my photos, which I have stored on 3 separate disks, on to just 1 external hard drive. It is a daunting task...
I came across the following in a folder that I had marked 'KEEPERS.' At least they were at the time. They brought back great memories.

Thank you to all veterans for your service to our great country!
These photos are from October 2012. Linda and I took a weekend trip to Highlands, North Carolina and these are some of the waterfalls that we visited. The truck has been posted a few times in the past and it was always intriguing to me. I mentioned previously that it is no longer there, but the memory of it is.

We went to check out the foliage at Gibbs Gardens yesterday afternoon
and was the case when we went to New England recently, the colors where
not as vibrant as last year. That is not to say that there was no
beauty. The skies were partly cloudy, however, when the sun came out
the colors were very nice.
One had to be most patient, waiting for the sun to re-appear and for the people to move out of the composition, particularly those that wore bright orange or red outfits, that stood out in the background. Linda will tell you that if you look up the word patient in the dictionary, you will not see my picture there...
The picture of the red leaves is a good example. I waited almost 15 minutes to take this picture from the bottom side of the leaves. They were almost black in appearance while the sky was cloudy.
The last two pictures were taken on the way to the gardens.

Linda and I took an afternoon trip to Camp Glisson in Dahlonega yesterday to take some pictures of the waterfall that is on the campground. It is only accessible when camp is not in session.
We stopped for a picnic on our way there. Delicious chicken salad sandwiches, sweet potato chips, an apple and some water. We attracted some feathered friends, ducks and geese.
Apart from the falls, someone did a chain-saw carving on a tree stump and Linda was very patient, as usual, as I took pictures.
